Yes, the boardwalk on Brighton Beach is probably the best place in NYC to have shashlyk. In my view, plum sauce goes best with meat, be it grilled meat of any kind (including chicken and turkey) or baked meat. It's a matter of taste, though; some people don't like sweet/sour sauces (I absolutely love them, plum sauce in particular). I posted about dolma, which is a Georgian food, not long ago (scroll a few notes down), and wasn't planning on writing more on Georgian food, but you just gave me an idea. Thank you for your comment!
